What is the Family Connections Program?

The Family Connections Program is a framework to build relationships between all the important people in a foster child's life.

Elements of the program include:

  • Connections Meetings - a voluntary opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet and talk about the needs of a foster child.  Meetings are co-facilitated by the Connections Team (composed of a Caregiver Mentor and Parent Ally).

  • Peer mentor support - provided to participants before, during and after the Connections Meeting

  • Focused on the child's needs, strengths and interests

  • Positive and supportive for parents and caregivers
