What is the Family Connections Program?
The Family Connections Program is a framework to build relationships between all the important people in a foster child's life.
Elements of the program include:
Connections Meetings - a voluntary opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet and talk about the needs of a foster child. Meetings are co-facilitated by the Connections Team (composed of a Caregiver Mentor and Parent Ally).
Peer mentor support - provided to participants before, during and after the Connections Meeting
Focused on the child's needs, strengths and interests
Positive and supportive for parents and caregivers
