What is the Family Connections Program?
The Family Connections Program is a framework to build relationships between all the important people in a foster child's life.
Elements of the program include:
-
Connections Meetings - a voluntary opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet and talk about the needs of a foster child. Meetings are co-facilitated by the Connections Team (composed of a Caregiver Mentor and Parent Ally). Meetings are focused on the child's needs, strengths and interests and are positive and supportive for parents and caregivers.
-
Peer mentor support - provided before, during and after the Connections Meeting to help participants navigate and build relationships
