FCP Certified Mentors

​A Successful FCP Certified Mentor:

  • Has personal experience working in partnership with parents or caregivers of a child placed in out of home care (foster care).

  • Desires to support others as they build partnerships and navigate relationships in the foster care system.

  • Works well both independently and as a team member.

  • Possesses a basic understanding of the WA state child welfare system.

FCP Certified Mentors:

  • Receive specialized training on facilitating effective meetings, support people as they have difficult conversations, and more!

  • Collaborate with other mentors on a regular basis.

  • Improve their skills with ongoing training and support.
